Compositions
For me composing
simply does not equal with writing music. Music just happens to be one
of many other possible ways to connect oneself to the eternity of the
Universe. But so is drawing a picture, writing a novel or taking a piece
of clay and making a figure out of it.
This is where the beauty of art comes from, everyone seeing the same thing
from different angle.
Being able
to realize how the energy flows through us makes me feel highly privileged
sometimes. The other times I feel frustrated because I recognize when
people are not sincere in their forms of expression, be it music or poetry.
Such kind of feeling is rather uncomfortable and painful but as I once
heared a wise man say, "Pleasant things always come with unpleasant
sides attached to them. It is thus our responsibility in this life to
make the best out of the challenges given to us".
I personally
take music as a challenge. We are facing changes in the structure every
day While improvising or composing. We open doors and discover secrets
behind them. Once a question gets an answer, another one is about to rise.

This
is rather unusual kind of instrumentation. Therefore I feel obligated
to add a couple of words here that would help a listener to understand,
how this kind of sound has been created.
The ensemble
is formed of four (plucked) string players: two of them are guitars,
the other two are kannel (zither).
This
instrument is not very common in Western tradition.
Estonian
instrument maker
Rait Pihlap has studied the history and acoustics of kannel for
years.
On his
website
you can find some good photos, and also read about the history of
this instrument.

Working in the studio
is my passion. With fine muscians around, there is no limit to creativity.
I take chances whenever possible, to record some of my new tracks in project
situation.
I've been also lucky enough to have been asked to join groups and bring
a song or a couple of them to a session every now and then.
